If possible, avoid having your back to a window/door/sharp edge. Protect your back with a high backed chair. Get a worklamp on the corner of your desk, use it all day. Put a large evergreen plant close to your desk. Place a small piece of amethyst crystal on your desk, near your computer. ESOTERIC ENERGY! FENG SHUI---NEED A DOCTOR? Life is dancing energy, life is ripples and flowing waves. Feel the force---crouching tiger, hidden dragon. No need to be Bruce Lee. Feng shui gathers and moves the chi around you--tunes your environment so that you can 'feed' from it. FENG SHUI-----FRONT DOOR--- --PORCH/HALLWAY. Uplighters, good planting in rounded pots either side of the front door, and bright energy in the porch and hallway helps tremendously. Colours depend upon the feng shui location of the front door/hallway. AS A BASIC GUIDE-----in the north/northeast/southwest/west and northwest---metallic colours--such as whites, creams, silvery greys can be very uplifting. In the east/southeast/south---yellows, greens, reds, touches of purple are extremely useful. GATHER THE CHI. Listen to life's whispers, grab opportunities, use positivity. Do not be deceived, go deeper, use the energy around you and within you. Mind influences body, environment influences mind--so, change environment-- -use feng shui. Manipulate the chi, tune it, let it help and support it--every day. If it is flowing too quickly---you cannot feed off it. If the chi is stagnant and slow---it is too unhealthy to be of use. Too fast---stress, lost chances, richness of life flowing by without you. Too slow---depression, blues, illness, blockages, frustrations. Raise the energy---keep it flowing in a 'measured and meandering' way! FENG SHUI PLACEMENT OF TV. Really good placement for a television is in a corner, an alcove, a bay window. The chi energy is moved, stirred. The TV stops the natural energies in the alcove/corner from going stagnant. In front of a bay window is excellent protection, and once again, moves the chi as it arrives through the window. TV there is SO much better than having seating in the bay window---which puts people's heads against the window and the outside world--vulnerable and unprotected! Feng shui is an MOT, a reassurance, a repairing, a trustworthy vessel which helps us on our life journey! Feng shui works on your environment, enhancing your energies and helping/supporting you through times of misfortune and trouble, bringing positivity and spotlighting periods of good fortune, enabling success to occur. The chi energies flowing around you, when tuned correctly, will affect the way you feel--helping you to make the necessary choices in your daily life, bringing you through nasty times less damaged/or unscarred. Feng shui is a very important piece in the jigsaw of life---a key piece, which can help you to see the 'whole picture'. DIRECTING THE FORCE. Each room of your home can have slightly different chi within it. A dining room should have a different feel from a living room, a bathroom different again. A child's bedroom, different from parents' room. Feel the chi--use the chi-----with clarity and awareness. Don't grasp. don't strangle the energy---don't squash it and clutter it. Let if flow---use the best, the appropriate colours--interior design--feng shui friendly! Be sensitive to what surrounds you. It WILL affect you---one way or another. It has been proved, patients in hospitals recovering from major surgery get better quicker if they are facing a window with views of trees, field, hills---the natural flow of energy. Good fireplaces can be situated in the south, east, south-east, south-west----they can be encouraged to enhance the natural energies, by using appropriate colours, sometimes earthy, sometimes fiery or based on wood element--above and around the already 'good' fire. Fireplaces which are not good---in the north, the west, the northwest can be protected against---amongst other things, this usually involved the placement of a mirror above the fireplace, and shiny, rounded metal ornaments around it---small brass bowls are perfect for this! FRONT DOORS. Usually the best frontage/front door location you can get is: southeast/south. Understand, we are talking of location, where the front door/porch/hallway is located. Direction can also be taken into consideration, but the location is the more important of the two. To know the difference, imagine you are sat on a swivel chair, located in the EAST, if you swivel the chair, your eyes can face any direction you wish,but the chair will stay located in the EAST. ***Location of the front of a house is more vital than the direction the front door faces! Southeast/south is known as 'area of gentle breezes' in feng shui. It's not as simple as that though--depends on loads of other things--such as, position of water/roads-cul de sacs--substations---hills--valleys--to name but a few. MIRRORS--very magical. As you face your front door from inside the house, get a rounded mirror placed on the left hand side of the front door inside your hallway or porch--very auspicious! Have a mirror reflecting your dining table---so lucky. BUT, don't have a mirror reflecting your kitchen, toilet, front door, bed or windows. If you have a fire in a 'metal element' or 'water element' location--WEST/NORTHWEST/NORTH. Hang a large mirror with a metallic frame above your fireplace to 'put out the fire' and stop the element conflict! GARDENS. Bends and curves, introduce them in your flower beds and the edges of lawns as well as pathways. Get different levels in your garden. A sunken, hidden garden in the SOUTHWEST, with lots of slabs, pebbles, gravel is ideal. A raised rockery area in the NORTHEAST is fantastic, plant it with alpines and herbs!
